Scenario Information


     Case Summary:

     ­4 yo male who has vomited x10 today with abdominal pain, not feeling well. Taken to ED. Prior history of ongoing liver disease and portal hypertension – followed by GI service

     Target Learning Groups:

      Physicians, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Specialist, Interprofessional Team

     Additional Target Learning Groups:

     Emergency Dept

     Educational Goals:

     ­Differentiate between compensated/decompensated shock
Generate differential diagnosis for shock
Review  and demonstrate the management of hypovolemic shock/distributive shock/GI Bleed
